Past Projects and Gallery
Welcome to our projects and gallery section. Below you can explore a small handful of our past projects, along with a gallery of our general work
Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, Norfolk
In 2020, we completed the sealant package for MTX at Norwich’s main hospital in Norfolk. The project was a 4300m² state of the art ward development, providing almost 100 bed units across 3 floors, with additional hospital areas.
Regarding sealants, hospital builds are governed by infection control standards. This means anything and everything has to be sealed to prevent bacteria growing and spreading by removing the areas that are perfect for bacteria.
Externally, we sealed all window frames to brick reveals in anthracite, and all expansion joints in buff.
All of the usual areas are sealed in en-suites, toilets, and wet areas, but to meet infection control, ALL lines are sealed. This was including, but not limited to; door architraves/posts, internal window frames, suspended ceiling junctions, oxygen and gas units, IPS units and miscellaneous desks and office spaces.
This was a sizeable project, complete on time and within short deadlines, that we are proud of as a company.
Unit 206, Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely
A development for a new Diocese of Ely office which started in 2023.
In this project, we sealed various items comprising of all sanitary areas, disabled WC and 4 additional toilet facilities ensuring optimal hygiene, cleanliness and water tight.
We also sealed all interior screens in the office spaces, which helped with the aesthetics, contributing to better acoustics.
Skylark, Elm High Road, Wisbech
The housing development, completed in the latter half of 2024 for Platform Housing, consists of 137 dwellings spread across 5.5 hectares. This project includes 42 shared ownership units and 95 affordable rented properties, executed in five phases starting in 2023.
PJ Mastics was tasked with sealing all external windows and door frames, as well as cladding junctions to brickwork, utilizing Anthracite sealant. Additionally, we applied Red and Buff sealant to all expansion joints.
Internally, sealant was meticulously applied to LVT flooring at skirting boards, as well as around internal windows and door frames, kitchen areas, and bathrooms/wet rooms.
As with any large-scale project, we faced unique challenges, and we take pride in the effective methods employed throughout the works.
Diagnostic Assessment Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn
Constructed in 2024, the new Diagnostic Assessment Centre (DAC) is designed to significantly reduce waiting times while providing state-of-the-art MRI and CT scanners, as well as X-ray and Ultrasound imaging. These advanced technologies are essential for the diagnosis and monitoring of a wide range of conditions, including cancer, heart disease, and respiratory issues.
Our primary focus, consistent with our extensive work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), is infection control. While we aim to create an air-sealed and watertight environment, hospital projects require strict adherence to hygiene standards. Every detail is carefully sealed, including ceiling perimeters, sanitaryware, doorlines, expansion joints, external windows, desks, grids, and more.
We take great pride in this project and are pleased with the results achieved.
Unit 204, Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely
Working for one of our repeat clients, we undertook a comprehensive project at Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely; which was constructed for Thorlabs to move into.
It has substancial office, laboratory, and R&D facilities, which all required substancial amounts of sealant.
The project involved sealing over 2400 linear meters of floor joints, both internally and externally, ensuring durability and functionality throughout all concrete flooring.
In addition to this, we also sealed all the usual sanitary areas, toilet areas, office spaces and internal window frames, ensuring a water-tight, air-tight and where necassary, a sound proof environment.
Miscellaneous work included pipe junctions, ceiling vents, various air seals, plus various aethetic fixes to elevate the appeal of the premises.
This project really shows how we aim to do our best and pay attention to the little things, and we as a company are proud of this project.
